Bible, Tool Box and a Hand Knit Sweater

Isaac is all ready for church with his Bible and tool box. The sweater Isaac is wearing was knit by my mom's cousin. The buttons are cute elephants which is special since I use to collect elephants.

Nathaniel is three weeks old and very sweet!

Nathaniel's Name

Our little man is named for Nathaniel Barnes and Nathaniel Bowditch. "Carry on Mr. Bowditch" is an excellent biography by Jean Lee Latham. It is the only book my mom paid us to read. Nathaniel Bowditch did carry on through many trials and wrote the "American Practical Navigator" which was first published in 1802. It is quite fitting that our little Sailor is named after a man who did so much for navigation. By God's providence we purchased a 1977 copy of the "American Practical Navigator" at a thrift store.
