Willie Nelson - On the Road Again

Tomorrow morning I am leaving for the sunshine of Florida. Friends of mine are letting me ride with them and my Uncle Randy and Aunt Kristine are graciously allowing me to stay at their home. Growing up we took several trips to Florida to visit my grandparents as well as many camping trips and a trip out west. Whenever we left we listened to the song "On the Road Again." We not only listened to it when we left home, but when we left a gas station or rest area and after any stop we made. Consequently that song is ingrained with many of my childhood memories. So, here is "On the Road Again" to start off this trip.

My Uncle Paul and Aunt Colleen were with me during my last trip to Florida, but are unable to go this time. I will miss you both!

Spring Time Craft

Bird Nest Craft

You will need:
a lunch sack
tacky glue
paper plate
twigs, grass and leaves

Open the paper sack, fold the top down and crinkle into bird nest shape
pour tacky glue onto paper plate
drag twigs through glue and place on paper sack
add leaves and grass

I saw this craft in a magazine, however I am not sure which one. They only used twigs, but Bella had the idea to include grass and leaves in her nest. It turned out well!

Red Shoes

Dear Cousin Amy,

Thank you for sharing the location of your favorite thrift shop! I spent a happy hour perusing their items. My favorite find is the pair of shoes pictured below. They are Born brand that I paid a mere $5.00 for. What a deal!

Love you,
Cousin Sarah

Chocolate Chip Waffle

This waffle was delicious! I used a basic gluten free waffle recipe from "Cooking For Isaiah" by Silvana Nardone and added a handful of Enjoy Life chocolate chips to the batter. Before eating I topped the waffle with maple syrup and banana slices.

Sewing

Miranda wanted to make a blanket and she wanted to make it in one night. Here is our finished project after 2 1/2 hours of work. Miranda was happier than what she looks in this photo!

While looking through items on Etsy I saw a cute camera cord cover for sale. It gave me the idea to make one of my own. Thanks to my friend Anna for taking the photo. To make the camera strap I cut a piece of fabric using the measurements from my strap. I added an inch to the length and doubled the width adding 1 inch again. Then I cut a piece of batting using the same measurements. Place the batting on the wrong side of the fabric. Turn the short edges in then fold in half lenghtwise with right sides together. Sew the long edge, turn and cover your strap.

This tag play mat was made for a new baby with the help of her three older sisters. The instructions are from Handmade Home by Amanda Blake Soule.

Chocolate Sandwich Cookies

My mom and I made a batch of these chocolate cookies. A few hours later the entire batch was gone. We did have Matt, Ellie, Miranda and Noah to help eat them!
